India U19 Asia Cup 2026 Squad: Sehwag's and Dravid's Sons Picked, India vs Pakistan on 8 November
BCCI has named a 15-member India U19 squad for the Asia Cup in Muscat (5–14 November). Lakshya Raichandani leads, and Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid are in the team. Here is what happened, why it is trending and what comes next.

What happened
The BCCI has picked India's team for the ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup, and the list went viral within hours. The junior selection committee named 15 players on Friday, 30 October 2026, for the tournament in Muscat, Oman, from 5 to 14 November.
Lakshya Raichandani will captain the side and Yashvardhan Singh Chauhan is his deputy. But most people searching for the squad were looking for two other names.
Why people are searching: two famous surnames
The first is Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag. The second is Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and coach Rahul Dravid. Anvay has been picked as a wicketkeeper-batter, with Rajat Baghel as the second keeper.
Seeing both names in one India squad is a big moment for fans who grew up watching their fathers bat together for India. It also puts a lot of attention on two teenagers, so it is worth remembering that they were picked by selectors on their own form at junior level.
The third reason is simple: India vs Pakistan. Both teams are in Group A, along with Nepal and the UAE, and they meet on 8 November.
The full squad
Lakshya Raichandani (captain), Yashvardhan Singh Chauhan (vice-captain), Aaryavir Sehwag, VK Vineet, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (wicketkeeper), Rajat Baghel (wicketkeeper), V Yashveer, Aryan Savsani, Mohit Ulwa, Kavya Patel, Shavin Vinod and Ishaan Sood.
Spellings of some names differ slightly between Hindi and English reports; we will update them to match BCCI's official list.
How the tournament works
This is the 13th edition of the U19 Asia Cup, played as 50-over one-day matches with eight teams. Group B has Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia. The top two teams from each group go into the semi-finals on 12 November, and the final is on 14 November.
India have a score to settle: Pakistan are the defending champions, having beaten India in the 2025 final, according to Dainik Bhaskar.
What comes next
India open against Nepal on 6 November, then play Pakistan on 8 November and the UAE on 10 November. We will add results here as the matches are played.
